This is a little better, artwise. While the strip does suffer from proportional differentials (Pepper seems to shrink every panel in my mad desire to portray her as being five inches shorter than Aikida), I think the quality is much better. And this is a good sign considering it is only my second strip now in 13 months. Writing, of course, a little slower to come along. A penis length joke? Meh. But it does kind of differentiate Aikida (more reserved) from Pepper (impulsive). Plus that shot of Pepper in panel one is an iconic look at her, I am very happy with how it turned out.

And yes, Pepper is ready for the Aaron Rodgers era. It’s the type of shit you just have to throw yourself into or you’re going to freak out.

Speaking of sports, you may or may not know that I am a big Red Wings fan. Not as much as I used to be (I’ve lost my passion for hockey a tad ever since Yzerman retired, plus I’ve been spoiled by so many Stanley Cups), but I’ve been watching the finals. Now, I am as big a Chris Osgood supporter as there ever has been, but I love that Ozzie has become a fucking bastard. He’s always so polite and professional, quiet spoken and all that good hockey player stuff, but watching him now is delightful. He’s jabbing people with his stick, playing calculating hockey, dropping like he’s been shot whenever someone touches him… and it’s working. Osgood has been a killer in the finals, and I’m glad to see it. I would love to see him pick up a Conn Smythe trophy to finally silence the dicks who used to call him the worst goalie to win a Cup. Give them hell, Chris.

Off topic, I’m still fiddling with page settings. New features are popping up and I’m trying to find other problems and fix them, like the redundant post issue. Baby steps!

Someone in the BTC IRC channel linked this and I had to post it. It starts out slow, but everything from 4:00 - 4:30 makes it worth it, trust me.

On the subject of BTC, thanks to Gooni for the link to help the new Aikida get underway. Thanks to everyone, in fact, for what I can only call an overwhelming response to coming back. I honestly thought that it was going to be a long, hard run to even get back close to where I was before, but this unanticipated start has been great. Coming back felt good, but coming back to a very welcoming (and forgiving) fanbase makes it feel even better.

R.I.P. Sydney Pollack… man, I just saw him in Michael Clayton, too. He seemed so intimidating in that movie, hard to see him go. A great director.
