At 37 (or is it 38 now?) Favre likely retired a touch early, given his love for the game. It seems like it was more of a snap decision...he should've waited until this summer to decide rather than in the heat of the moment. Given the season time to wear off. Anyway, GB should retire his jersey, despite the difficulties at the end. People have a right to change their mind, but Aaron Rodgers deserves his shot, period. Brett will still be playing football, which is what he wants, he'll still have adoring fans, and the Packers can move on with a hopefully talented player.

Congrats on the donations!

I don't doubt that this will work out for GB in the long run. But, they did just fuck over their greatest player ever. I can almost guarantee Ted Thompson is going to be booed anytime he's put on a screen at Lambeau.

Please. I'm from wisconsin, and while I'm not a big football fan, I still watch it, and I just think Farve became a jerk. We offered him a spot back on the roster, he just had to compete with Aaron Rodgers for the opening spot. He refused to compete for it, and we traded him to the jets. HOnestly, I think Brett shouldn't have been let back into the NFL. He retired, and if he regretted that decision, tough shit. But as it stands, I'm happy he isn't a member of the packers anymore. He's a great player, but he was arrogant. Also, I don't think we should retire his number for our team. He doesn't deserve it.

Also, congrats on getting the server fee paid!

On the one hand, Favre is gone from GB now, and that's a minus in the short term.

On the other hand, he's not likely to last too many more seasons. Two or three, maybe. He's got to age eventually. He's eleventy-one in NFL years.

In the long term, GB is going to have to start getting some play time for their kid QB. Once he gets some play time in real NFL conditions, the Pack can evaluate his actual performance, and decide whether to stick with him, or to start burning draft picks on new talent.

(And I do realize that saying "real NFL" when we're talking about the NFC North is somewhat questionable.)
