Look, weird shit happens in Second Life. This is pretty well known at this point. Insane things happen, according to this article. A woman flips out and decides to kidnap the guy who was her virtual boyfriend in SL, who had recently dumped her or something. Bizarre, right? Well, it was actually something else in the article that made me go “What the fuck?”…

Read that again.

A lion. The dude was a lion.
Look, when you’ve gotten to a point in your life where you find yourself dating virtual lions, its time to go outside. If you find that you are that lion, it is also time to go outside. I don’t even want to know what their cybersex consisted of, but I expect it was something Bloodninja-esque.
You can’t make this shit up. Thanks to the dear silentpyjamas for passing the article along… I had another strip going for today, but this was too insane to ignore.

I haven’t recommended a webcomic in awhile so I’m going to now. I caught Kiwis by Beat advertising on the site, and decided to read the archives, and was floored. These are fantastic, fantastic strips that you need to see. Aaron is apparently a fan as well, so it’s a double recommendation. If you’re wondering what a “natural artist” looks like, you’ll see it here. Ryan “Rezo” Armand (this name is familiar to me, and I can’t put my finger on why… bad, bad memory) has a great treasure stowed here, and I implore you to watch it sparkle.

Wasn’t the guy the victim of the kidnapping? And the victim was the lion? Making the guy the lion, and the ‘girl’, Kimberly Jernigan, 33, the virtual woman. Hm, Jernigan? It says Jerrigan on this site. Wasn’t the text copied and pasted? Or did they make a typo at CBS and fixed it later?
As for Kiwis By Beat, I remember reading “Violence Salaryman Teppei!” a long time ago, and a google implies that it was because it was linked from Monica Furious, which in turn is linked from Minus, which I began reading after it was linked from… Dresden Codak, probably. And in the comments to certain Minus pages rezo linked to other comics, such as Riceboy and “What Birds Know”. Check those out as well. Awesome stuff, really.
